NOAC 2018

National Order of the Arrow Conference

2018

The National Conference

Every two years, Arrowmen from across the country gather on the campus of a major university for the National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC).

NOAC is Scouting's second-largest national program event. The reason for its growing popularity can be attributed to the fact that it is planned and carried out by Arrowmen themselves. Youth involvement ensures that the conference program will be exciting, relevant, and non-stop fun.

These gatherings normally draw over 8,000 Arrowmen, traveling from as far away as Europe and Asia, for five days of training, fun, and fellowship. With each conference, NOAC becomes more diverse, more fun, and more exciting.

NOAC has many different aspects making it impossible to participate in every event. Each year events are added and changed so you could go to NOAC every time and do new things each time. The main activities at NOAC include training, ceremonies evaluation, American Indian events, shows, competitions and Founder's Day. NOAC has something for everyone of all backgrounds and all ages. It is definitely one of Scouting's most unique and entertaining training events.

The 2018 NOAC will be held at Indiana University, in Bloomington, Indiana from July 30th to August 4th, 2018.

Registration

Due to high anticipated interest and the limited capacity of the campus, each lodge has been given an allotment of slots.   Our Lodge has been given 34 total slots consisting of 26 youth and 8 adult positions. The contingent size is limited and must have a ratio of 3 or more youth for each adult. The lodge can request additional slots now, but we will not know until January if we have them.   We encourage everyone interested to apply NOW if you have any interest in attending. The fee to hold a position will be $100, which will be refundable if you are not selected. The lodge will be making the selection of those attending similar to the process in 2015. Applicant involvement in the Lodge leadership, participation in our AIA program, and effort toward the development of our leadership may be considered as part of the selection process.

The cost for attending NOAC with our lodge contingent is expected to be between $725 and $875. This amount will cover the $525 national conference fee plus transportation and lodging to and from the event in Indiana.

You can request a slot to attend with our lodge contingent by completing one of the below application options. Online applications are only available for youth applicants. Adults will need to apply by mail or in person. A $100 deposit is required at the time of your request. This deposit is refundable if you are not selected to attend (not including any online processing fees).  If you are selected to attend, you can NOT transfer your position to another Arrowman. Once you are notified of selection you have 10 days to turn down the offer in order to receive your refund.  Once the payment schedule has started in February no refund may be possible unless a qualified individual is found to take your place. Exceptions will be considered for documented medical and family emergency.

Those interested in staff positions can apply directly on the National OA website registration.oa-bsa.org.  This will also require a deposit of $100.

A payment schedule will be determined by February 2018 once a final cost has been determined. Payments will need to be made on time to meet our deadlines form the national organization, and from any reservations we have made.

You will need a complete medical form (with physician signature) for this event. The form must have been completed after September 1, 2017.   Medical Form Parts AB&C
